Rounder Saverance

TIMMONSVILLE -- Rounder Saverance, 67, died after a brief illness on Monday, December 09, 2013.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home 4210 W. Palmetto Street. Interment will follow at Fair Hope Cemetery, Lynches River Road, Lamar.

Visitation will be today (Wednesday) Dec.11, 2013 from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Don and Donna Saverance. 

Mr. Saverance was born in Florence County, the son of the late Warren G. and Rebecca Moore Saverance. 

Rounder was the Vice President of Pee Dee State Bank for 35 years, after which, he was hired as a Vice President of the Citizens Banks where he was instrumental in the formation of the new bank location in Timmonsville. 

He was a graduate of the USC School of Banking, UNC School of Banking, Louisiana State University and Harvard School of Banking. 

He was associated with Layton-Anderson Funeral Home for a number of years and most recently as a partner. 

Rounder was a member of the Benton Lodge No. 26, Shriners, member of FMU Foundation Board of Directors, Chairman of Florence County Health Board, a member of the Florence County Transportation Committee, past President of the Timmonsville Chamber of Commerce, past President of the Timmonsville Rotary Club. 

Rounder was associated with NASCAR, and was also a member of American Power Boat Association. Surviving are: a brother, Don Saverance and his wife Donna of Lamar; three sisters, Beverly Saverance, of Lamar, Jean Singh, of Spartanburg, Rebecca "Bookie" D'Alessandro and her husband Carmine of Lexington; a niece Shay Singh; a nephew Mike Leviner; a great-niece Rebecca Leviner and his faithful canine companion "Buddy".

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Reed Keller Price, 72, of Bishopville, SC, will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Antioch Baptist Church in Camden. The reverends David Robinson, Ken Bouldin, and Jimmy Atkerson will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:30 PM, on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. Memorials may be made in his memory to Antioch Baptist Church, 1875 Antioch Road, Camden, SC 2902. Reed Keller Price died December 8, 2013. He was born in Bishopville, SC, the son of the late Joseph K. and Mae Keller Price. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and was a former deacon at the church. Reed was a musician for most of his life and was an avid NASCAR fan. He ran the sound system at Antioch Baptist Church and at Antioch Community Center. Reed is survived by his wife, Barbara Steen Price, brothers, Lewis Price of Sumter, SC, Olin Price of Bishopville, SC, and Leo Price of McBee, SC; sisters, Ellen Price Lee of Camden, SC and Donna Price Galloway of Camden, SC; 10 nieces and 19 great-nieces; 9 nephews and 8 great-nephews.
