Opinion From Talbert Black, Jr. -Turns into a Thank You!!!!

Friends of South Carolina!

Congratulations!

You successfully stopped this bill in its tracks.  Reports from the hearing say that the only person in favor of the bill was its sponsor.  Because of your swift action, the legislators on the committee all agreed it was a bad bill.

Legislators should not get special privileges over us.  They are our servants!  It is good to constantly remind them of that.

So thanks to all those who made phone calls, sent messages, and showed up at the subcommittee hearing!

We’ve stopped H3405, dead.

Thanks for all you do!

The SC General Assembly changed from a direct email system to a submission form on the individual webpage of each lawmaker. The links below will open each lawmaker's page where you must click "Send a message to Representative" then paste in your message.

I saw this coming last year when they put the forms up and took the e-mail addresses down.  I guess they felt like they were getting to many e-mails.  I talked to an aide and she told me her job was to delete any message that does not come from a constituent.

LIGHT UP THE PHONES!

When these representatives sit on a committee, they don't just represent their home district, they represent the whole state!  Please call and tell them how you feel about this attempt to cut off communication.  We demand accessibility to the committee members.  If they can't stand the heat, then maybe they need to find another job.

If you are a constituent, use the form at the link provided below, if not, rest assured they will never see your message.  KEEP THEIR PHONES RINGING!

Please take the following “Action Steps” ASAP and let the members of the subcommittee know how strongly you feel about politicians giving themselves special privileges while leaving you and your family at risk.

ACTION STEPS:

1) Call each member of the House General Laws Subcommittee and tell them the following:

“I strongly urge you to Vote NO on H. 3405! No special privileges for public officials! If it's good enough for YOU, it's good enough for ME. GrassRoots GunRights speaks for me!”

2) Using the submission forms at the links below, send each member of House General Laws Subcommittee with the same message:

“Dear Representative (INSERT NAME):

I strongly urge you to Vote NO on H. 3405! No special privileges for public officials! If it's good enough for YOU, it's good enough for ME. GrassRoots GunRights speaks for me! Sincerely,

(YOUR NAME)
(YOUR TOWN)”

P.S.  Please consider making a donation at this link https://www.campaignforliberty.com/contribute.php?for=SC.

I do all my political activism as a volunteer. Additionally I work a regular full time job to support my family.  Much of what needs to be done costs money... like radio ads, mailings, and even the training material for the classes and orientations that I host.

You will notice that the donated money is collected through Campaign for Liberty in Virginia.  Rest assured that 100% of the donated money comes to South Carolina and is used for South Carolina under my direction.

Thank you for your generosity!
