“Get a piece of flesh and hang on,” Clemson's head coach said. “And hope someone gets there in a hurry.”
Sound advice. At 6-foot-6, 250 pounds, Auburn's monstrous quarterback will give the Tigers' defense major matchup issues when Clemson visits No. 16 Auburn at 7 p.m. Saturday. The key to leaving the Plains with a 3-0 record might not be stopping Newton, but merely limiting the damage he causes.
Through two games, he averages 120.5 yards rushing per game while passing for 161 yards per game, with five passing scores against one interception and two rushing touchdowns..."
Auburn coach Gene Chizik: “...We have some designed runs that we feel really good about, but the thing you can't account for are the runs that aren't designed,” Chizik said. “He has gotten a lot of mileage out of some plays that weren't necessarily there.
