Hopkins back to his old self after motorcycle wreck

You Can't Keep A Good Man Down

Junior is Back!
"... Junior Hopkins is back! (And so , it seems, is his sense of humor)
A motorcycle wreck on Church Street on May 25 sent the 58-year-old Hopkins to the hospital with a serious life-threatening brain injury.
He spent three weeks in the intensive trauma care unit at Palmetto Richland Hospital in Columbia and six weeks at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, one of the premier rehabilitation hospitals in the nation.
He returned home on Aug. 6 and is back at work part-time as a warehouse manager at South Atlantic Canners, where he has been employed for 33 years.
"I want people to know that Junior is back," Hopkins said. "He is not 100 percent, but he's about 95 percent. And he's still good looking..."
"... Junior is best known in Lee County for his volunteer work as a Dixie Youth Baseball coach for the past 40 years. He also coached junior varsity baseball at Robert E. Lee Academy..."
