Gun Battle Outside TX Police Station

Have People Absolutely Lost Their Minds?

"August 17, 2010 - 1:29 PM | by: Maggie Kerkman
What was first reported as shots fired at a college campus has evolved into something even more disturbing. Police in McKinney, Texas say this morning, someone drove up and parked a pickup in front of their safety building—which is right across the street from the Central Park campus of Collin County Community College. The truck and its trailer caught fire. Police say there was ammunition in the truck that began to explode when the flames reached the ammo. Officers poured out of the building to investigate and came under fire. A suspect was found dead near a tree line near the building. It’s not known whether officers killed the suspect or he killed himself. It’s also not known exactly how many shots were fired. Police are still trying to figure out what might have sparked the shooting. They say they think they know the suspect’s name but aren’t releasing it just yet. The alleged shooter had apparently been seen yelling something in the direction of the police station."
