The Item: News - Severe weather hits area:

"Lee County Emergency Management Director Mike Bedenbaugh said National Weather Service officials paid a visit to the impacted areas in Lee and Sumter counties on Monday.
'Most of the damage we had in Lee County was caused by a microburst according to meteorologist Steve Naglic,' Bedenbaugh said. 'He does believe that an EF0 tornado touched down for about a mile mostly in Sumter County - from Hatfield Road in Lee to Dubose Siding Road in Sumter. Because trees were not pointed in the same direction in this area, he said the damage was likely caused by a tornado. This area is not heavily populated, and the microburst caused more damage than the tornado.'
There were no injuries reported."
